openWorst Bull-Riding Song Rodeo Ticket Giveaway
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. The contest
The "Worst Bull-Riding Song" Rodeo Ticket Giveaway (the "Contest") is sponsored and administered by RadioDifferently LLC, doing business as K-Hits 106 / KHTZ-FM (the "Station"). Prizes are provided by the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo (Badlands Charities, LLC) and Bray's Saddlery of Minot, North Dakota (together, the "Prize Providers").
These Specific Rules supplement the Station's General Contest Rules posted at KHits106.com/contests. Where the two conflict, these Specific Rules control. By entering, you agree to both.
2. Entry period and how to enter
The entry period began when the official Contest post was published on the K-Hits 106 Facebook page on Monday, October 5, 2026, and ends at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The Station's Facebook page is the official timekeeping record.
To enter, post a public comment on the official K-Hits 106 Facebook Contest post naming the song you think would be the worst song to play as the bull-riding gate opens. One entry per person. If you post more than one comment, only your first song comment counts as your entry; later comments are welcome but do not create additional entries. Comments on shared copies of the post, on other pages, or sent by private message are not entries.
You do not need to like the page, share the post, or tag anyone to enter, and doing so does not improve your chances of winning. Entries submitted by automated means, from fake or duplicate accounts, or in violation of Facebook's terms will be disqualified.
3. Eligibility
Open to legal residents of North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Minnesota who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and who hold a Facebook account in their own name. This expands the residency requirement in Section 1 of the General Contest Rules for this Contest only.
Ineligible: owners, employees, officers, and contractors of RadioDifferently LLC; employees, officers, directors, and volunteers of Badlands Charities, LLC directly involved in the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo; owners and employees of Bray's Saddlery; employees and contractors of other Minot-market broadcast stations; and the immediate family and household members of each. The winning-frequency and one-winner-per-household limits in Section 2 of the General Contest Rules apply.
4. Prizes
Four (4) winners will each receive one pair (2) of general admission tickets to one performance of the 2026 Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo, held October 9–11, 2026 at the North Dakota State Fair Center in Minot, North Dakota. Tickets are valid for either the Friday, October 9, 2026, 7:00 PM performance or the Sunday, October 11, 2026, 1:00 PM performance; the performance will be designated by the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo when it emails the winner, subject to availability. Tickets are not valid for the Saturday, October 10 performance. Approximate retail value: $50 per pair ($25 per general admission ticket), based on the rodeo's published adult ticket price.
One (1) of the four winners, designated by the judges as the Grand Prize winner, will also receive a $100 gift certificate to Bray's Saddlery, Minot, North Dakota. Approximate retail value: $100, based on face value. The certificate is subject to Bray's Saddlery's lawful terms, including any expiration date and in-store redemption requirement, which will be stated on the certificate.
Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $300. Prizes are not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be rescheduled to another performance by the Station. Transportation, parking, lodging, food, and all other expenses are the winner's responsibility. Tickets are subject to the venue's admission rules. The Station does not control event scheduling or cancellation and does not promise reimbursement after tickets have been delivered. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes.
5. How winners are chosen
This is a judged contest. After the entry period closes, a panel of K-Hits 106 staff will review all eligible entries and select the four (4) winning entries based on the following equally weighted criteria: (a) humor, (b) originality, and (c) how well the song fits the "worst song as the gate opens" prompt. The entry the judges score highest will be designated the Grand Prize winner and will receive the Bray's Saddlery gift certificate in addition to a pair of tickets.
If two or more entries tie, the entry posted earliest (by Facebook timestamp) wins the tie. Likes, reactions, replies, and shares do not affect judging. The number of eligible entries does not change the judging criteria; your chance of winning depends on the quality of your entry compared with all other eligible entries. The judges' good-faith decisions are final, subject to applicable law. If a selected entrant is ineligible or forfeits, the next highest-scoring eligible entry will be selected.
6. Announcement, notification, and claiming prizes
Winners will be announced on the air on K-Hits 106 and posted on the K-Hits 106 Facebook page at 12:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Each potential winner will also be notified by a reply to their winning comment and a Facebook private message from the official K-Hits 106 page. The Station will never ask for payment, a fee, or card details to release a prize, and will never contact winners from a personal account or an account other than the official K-Hits 106 page.
Because the rodeo begins Friday, October 9, 2026, the claim deadlines are shorter than those in the General Contest Rules: a potential winner must reply to the Station's private message with their full name and email address (and, for the Grand Prize winner, a mailing address) by 5:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Entrants are responsible for checking their Facebook message requests folder. The Station will pass each winner's name and email address to the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo, which will email the tickets directly to the winner; no paper tickets will be issued by the Station. The Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo will mail the Bray's Saddlery gift certificate to the Grand Prize winner at the mailing address provided. A potential winner who does not respond by the deadline, is found ineligible, or declines forfeits the prize, and the next highest-scoring eligible entry will be selected.
Winners may be asked to provide reasonable proof of age and residence before prizes are released, and may be asked to sign a short eligibility confirmation and release.
7. Facebook, publicity, and your entry
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Meta. You release Facebook and Meta from any claims relating to this Contest. Information you submit goes to the Station, not to Facebook.
By entering, you grant the Station a nonexclusive license to read your song entry and first name on the air and to repost it on Station channels for Contest administration and promotion. By accepting a prize, you permit the Station to announce your name and hometown on the air and online without additional compensation. Entries that are threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or obscene will be disqualified.
8. General Rules and contact
All terms of the K-Hits 106 General Contest Rules not modified above apply, including the releases and limitations in Sections 10–13. Questions about this Contest and requests for a copy of these rules may be directed to the Station at KHits106.com. These rules will remain posted for at least 30 days after the Contest ends.
The General Contest Rules below also apply to every contest listed here. If a contest's Specific Rules conflict with the General Rules, the Specific Rules control.
K-Hits 106 General Contest Rules
Effective Date: October 5, 2026
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
These General Contest Rules apply to contests, sweepstakes, and giveaways conducted by RadioDifferently LLC, doing business as K-Hits 106 / KHTZ-FM (the "Station"), unless a particular promotion expressly identifies another sponsor or a different set of rules. By entering, participants agree to these General Rules and the published rules for that particular contest ("Specific Rules").
Each contest will have Specific Rules identifying its entry period, entry method and limits, eligibility, prizes and approximate retail values, selection method and timing, tie-breaking procedure when applicable, and notification and claim requirements. The Specific Rules supplement these General Rules and control any conflict. A brief advertisement or social media post does not replace the complete applicable rules.
1. Eligibility
Unless the Specific Rules state otherwise, entrants must be legal United States residents who reside in North Dakota and are at least 18 years old when they enter. A contest involving alcohol or another age-restricted prize will identify any higher age requirement in its Specific Rules. A contest permitting minors will specify parental consent and prize-claim requirements before entries open. Contests are void where prohibited by law.
The following people are ineligible: owners, employees, officers, and contractors of RadioDifferently LLC; people directly involved in administering or judging the particular contest; employees directly involved in the contest at participating sponsors, prize providers, or promotional partners; and employees and contractors of any other radio or television broadcast station serving the Minot, North Dakota market. Their immediate family members and people living in their households are also ineligible. Immediate family means a spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, or grandparent.
Entrants must provide accurate information and may be asked for reasonable proof of age, identity, residence, and other eligibility requirements. Entries must be made by individuals on their own behalf.
2. Winning frequency and household limits
Unless the Specific Rules state otherwise, a person may win only one Station contest in any seven-day period and no more than three Station contests in a calendar month. The seven-day period begins when the person is first notified that they have been selected as a potential winner. Only one winner per household is permitted in a particular contest. A household consists of people who share the same primary residence.
A prize package, including any bonus prize awarded in the same contest, counts as one win. These limits apply across Station entry channels and cannot be avoided by using another account, phone number, email address, or identity. Any exception must be stated in the Specific Rules before entry begins.
3. Entry methods and deadlines
Enter only through the methods described in the Specific Rules. Unless those rules specify otherwise, only one entry per person per contest is allowed. Additional social media comments may be made for fun but do not create additional eligible entries. Entries must be received during the stated entry period. Times are Central Time unless expressly stated otherwise; the Station's designated entry system or contest log is the official timekeeping record.
For website entries, complete the required fields. For social media entries, submit the required response on the designated official Station post; comments on shared copies do not count unless expressly allowed. Entries must remain available for verification through winner selection.
For call-in contests, call the announced number at the announced time and meet the stated caller-number or answer requirement. Caller order is determined by the Station's telephone system or designated contest operator. If a caller is ineligible, the next eligible caller will be considered using the announced method. An online stream, app, or HD Radio signal may be delayed compared with the Station's analog FM broadcast, which can affect time-sensitive participation.
Call recording and broadcast. By calling a Station contest line or the studio request line during a contest, the caller consents to the Station recording the call and broadcasting, streaming, or posting all or part of it, including the caller's voice and first name, for contest administration and Station promotion. Callers who do not consent to being recorded or broadcast should not call. This paragraph is the Station's notice of recording and broadcast under FCC rules.
Text entries are accepted only when specifically announced. Message and data rates may apply. Specific Rules will identify the entry number, entry limits, and any free alternative entry method. Any alternative method will have the same opportunity to win. Contest entry does not itself authorize unrelated marketing texts.
Automated entries, bots, impersonation, and attempts to exceed entry limits are prohibited. Proof of sending an entry does not establish that the Station received it.
4. Winner selection
Winners will be selected at the time and by the method stated in the Specific Rules. A random drawing will be conducted from eligible entries, and its odds depend on the number of eligible entries received. In a call-in contest, the odds of winning depend on the number of callers and the timing of each call relative to the announced caller requirement. In a trivia or skill contest, the odds depend on the number of eligible participants and the accuracy and timing of their responses. A judged contest will use its published judging criteria and tie-breaking procedure.
Likes, shares, reactions, and votes do not determine the winner unless the Specific Rules expressly establish a permitted voting method. The Station's good-faith decisions about eligibility, judging, and application of the published rules are final, subject to applicable law. The Station will not use an undisclosed selection method or change judging criteria after entries open.
Selection makes a person a potential winner until eligibility and any required claim steps have been verified. If an alternate is needed, the Station will use the same published selection method, such as the next highest-scoring eligible entry in a judged contest or another drawing in a random giveaway.
5. Notification and claiming prizes
Potential winners will be contacted through the method identified in the Specific Rules, which may include a phone call, email, private message, or reply to their contest entry. Unless the Specific Rules provide a different deadline, a potential winner must respond within 48 hours after the Station sends the initial notification. A shorter deadline for an upcoming event must be disclosed in the Specific Rules before entries open.
Entrants are responsible for monitoring the contact method associated with their entry, including message requests and spam folders. If a potential winner does not respond on time, is ineligible, declines, or fails to complete required verification, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate selected.
Unless the Specific Rules state otherwise, prizes must be collected or delivery arranged within 14 days after initial notification. Any shorter deadline for an event prize must be disclosed in the Specific Rules before entries open. The Station will explain delivery or pickup arrangements when notifying the winner. Pickup is by arrangement at the location provided in the notification. A winner may be required to present identification and sign an eligibility confirmation and a lawful prize-related release. Any special documentation or completion deadline will be stated in the Specific Rules.
K-Hits 106 will never require payment, a processing fee, or credit card details to release a contest prize. Tax information, when legally needed, will be requested through a private process, not in public social media comments.
6. Prizes and expenses
The Specific Rules will identify the number, description, approximate retail value, basis of valuation, and any material restrictions of the prizes. Only the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. Unless expressly included, transportation, lodging, meals, parking, and other expenses associated with using a prize are the winner's responsibility.
Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash, sold, or exchanged through the Station. Transfer to another person requires Station approval unless the Specific Rules permit it. If an advertised prize becomes unavailable, the Station may substitute a prize of equal or greater value where lawful and consistent with the disclosed terms.
Event tickets are valid only for the stated performance and seating category and are subject to the venue's admission rules. The Station does not control event cancellation or rescheduling and does not promise reimbursement for a cancellation after tickets have been delivered. Any rights provided by the ticket issuer or applicable law remain available. Gift cards and certificates are subject to the issuer's lawful terms; material expiration dates and redemption restrictions will be disclosed in the Specific Rules.
Travel, vehicle, cash, or other substantial prize packages require additional Specific Rules identifying their inclusions, restrictions, and fulfillment requirements. These General Rules do not automatically include airfare, accommodations, or other benefits.
Winners are responsible for applicable taxes. The Station will request a taxpayer identification number or tax form when needed to comply with applicable reporting requirements and will issue any required tax information returns. A prize may be taxable even when no information return is required.
7. Submitted comments, photos, audio, and other content
Entries must answer the prompt and comply with the announced submission requirements. Threatening, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, fraudulent, unlawful, or privacy-invasive submissions may be disqualified. Entries must not encourage dangerous conduct or infringe another person's rights.
Naming a song, artist, movie, business, or other subject in response to a contest prompt is permitted. This does not authorize uploading recordings, photographs, lyrics, or other protected material without the necessary rights. Entrants submitting original creative material must have the rights and any permissions needed for the Station to use it as described below.
Entrants retain ownership of their original submissions. By entering, they grant the Station a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, display, share, broadcast, and reasonably edit the entry for administering and promoting the contest and for related Station programming and promotion. Editing must not materially misrepresent the entry or change the basis on which it was judged. The license applies only to rights the entrant owns or is authorized to grant. Entries need not be returned.
Submitting an entry does not guarantee that it will be posted or broadcast. An entrant's opinions do not necessarily reflect the Station's views.
8. Social media promotions
Unless expressly identified otherwise, Station promotions on Facebook or Instagram are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or Meta. To the fullest extent permitted by law, each entrant releases Facebook, Instagram, and Meta from claims arising out of or relating to that promotion.
Information submitted directly to the Station is provided to the Station, rather than to the platform, for contest administration. Public comments and other platform activity remain subject to that platform's own terms and privacy practices.
Facebook contests will not require sharing a post to a personal timeline, posting to another person's timeline, or tagging friends as a condition of entry or an extra chance to win. Entrants must use the official Station account or post identified in the Specific Rules and meet the platform's account requirements.
9. Publicity and personal information
Except where prohibited by law, accepting a prize permits the Station to announce and use the winner's name, hometown, winning entry, and any contest-related photograph or recording provided by the winner for Station and contest promotion without additional compensation. Any broader use or special publicity requirement must be disclosed in the Specific Rules.
The Station may use entry and claim information to administer the contest, verify eligibility, contact winners, fulfill prizes, and meet recordkeeping and tax obligations. Necessary information may be shared with a prize provider or service assisting with fulfillment. Entering does not require consent to unrelated marketing or the sale of personal information. Any optional marketing signup must be separately disclosed and does not improve an entrant's chance of winning.
10. Technical problems and prohibited conduct
The Station is not responsible for entries it does not receive because of circumstances outside its reasonable control, including telephone congestion, interrupted internet service, platform outages, or deleted or inaccessible entries. Streaming delays do not create a right to an additional entry or prize.
The Station may disqualify a person who cheats, impersonates another person, manipulates entry systems or voting, harasses participants or staff, or violates the published rules. Disqualification will be based on a good-faith application of those rules. Technical problems do not permit undisclosed changes to eligibility or winner selection.
11. Interruptions and changes to rules
If fraud, a significant technical failure, an emergency, or another circumstance beyond the Station's reasonable control prevents a contest from operating fairly, the Station may suspend, modify, or cancel it as permitted by law. The Station will explain any resulting prize disposition and use a fair approach consistent with the published rules. This provision does not permit arbitrary changes to an advertised contest.
For contests using online disclosures under FCC rules, material changes will be posted online, and the changes or notice of them will be announced on air within 24 hours of posting and periodically thereafter. Announcements will direct participants to the revised written terms. The Station will maintain material terms online for at least 30 days after the contest ends. Updates to these General Rules apply prospectively unless a lawful change to an active contest is specifically disclosed.
12. Releases and limitations
To the extent permitted by law, entrants release RadioDifferently LLC, participating contest sponsors and prize providers, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from claims arising from participation or from the receipt, possession, or use of a prize. This release does not apply to any liability that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.
Unless the Specific Rules expressly provide otherwise, the Station makes no additional warranty about a third-party prize. Manufacturer or provider warranties and nonwaivable legal rights remain available. Nothing in these General Rules excuses the Station from conducting a contest as advertised or complying with applicable law.
13. Applicable law and venue
Contests are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws. North Dakota law governs these rules to the extent permitted by law, without overriding any mandatory protections applicable to an entrant. Any dispute arising from a Station contest or these rules shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ward County, North Dakota, and each entrant consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, except where applicable law requires a different forum. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
14. Rules and contact
The sponsor and administrator is RadioDifferently LLC, doing business as K-Hits 106 / KHTZ-FM, unless the Specific Rules identify another sponsor. The current General Rules and the Specific Rules for each active contest are posted at KHits106.com/contests. Contest questions, requests for a copy of the rules, and questions about announced winners may be directed to the Station using the contact information published there.
